Fiery Sunset

The term “fiery sunset” is often used figuratively. Unfortunately, this one was more literal. This is a shot taken last night, with Boulder and the Flatirons in the distance, where a fire started yesterday afternoon.

Ralston Creek

It’s been so hot here lately that I was pining for some cooler weather. In lieu of that, I decided to process a shot I took back in February.

It’s the World

I saw these three sitting there looking out the window, as if preparing for the main feature.

Mount Goliath

Mount Goliath is a nature refuge used to help protect the Bristlecone pine trees and other alpine flora. The view from there is spectacular.

Wreckage of a Bristlecone

It’s interesting that the structure of a Bristlecone pine never seems to change, even when it’s been dead for years.

Avian Aria

It was fascinating to watch my new feathered friend just hanging out in the tree outside my building, and at one point he opened his mouth wide and just rocked his head around. It was easy to imagine that he was belting out something operatic.

You Lookin’ At Me?

I looked out the window at the office this afternoon to find that I was being watched. It’s a male Cooper’s Hawk, and he was just about as surprised as I was. I’d been hearing from others at work that they’ve seen a pair around the building a lot over the last week, which is why I just happened to have my camera handy.

Hip Hop

This is the same girl that was in the very first dance shot I posted. She’s as amazing doing hip hip as she is doing ballet.

Eight

As in arms and legs.

Sandman

The sandman was waiting to get the innocent young girl…

Bagitude

This was a cool but strangely creepy dance done entirely within these sheer fabric sacks. Unfortunately, there was also a sad side-story, which is that one of the girls who was in this dance fell off the stage during practice and broke her arm.

Flying

These two young ladies looked as though they were taking to the skies.

Depth

I didn’t realize when I took this shot that I had actually captured 3 dancers. I thought the effect was kinda cool.
